Reidsville-Beulah Davis Martin was born to the late William and Thurley Webster Davis on August 24, 1933. She went on to be with the Lord on Monday night April 16, 2012 at Annie Penn Memorial Hospital in Reidsville, NC, following a brief illness, passing at the tender age of 78.
Funeral services will be 2:00 P.M. Saturday, April 21, 2012 at Christian View Center, Wentworth, NC with a visitation 1:30-2:00 P.M. prior to the service. Pastor Ronald McRae, of Little Salem Christian Church will deliver the eulogy and burial will follow in the Eden Gardens Cemetery.
Beulah was united in marriage to the late Zack Turner Martin Sr. on March 9, 1953. To this union were born 6 children. Beulah was a devoted wife and a loving mother. She had a quiet spirit and a passionate love for music and children.
She was a member and a musician who played the piano at Jerusalem United Holy Church. She also extended her musical talents to Galilee Pentecostal Holiness Church, Lords Harvest Praise and Worship Center, M & L Faith Tabernacle and Little Salem Christian Church. She was one of the founders of the Young Adult Choir of Jerusalem United Holy Church and she also worked with the Drama Team. She had a caring heart for the elderly and the young.
Beulah attended the Madison, NC city school system and completed her GED @ RCC where she also received her Nursing Assistant Certificate. She retired from Unifi Inc. of Reidsville, NC after serving many dedicated years.
She was preceded in death by, in addition to her parents, her beloved and devoted husband Zack, one sister, Jettie Bell Davis, as well as two brothers, Rev James Davis of Madison, NC and William (Spookie) Hairston of Martinsville, VA.
She leaves to mourn six children, daughters: Sharon King, Angela Martin, Linda Martin Cheryl Martin all of Reidsville, NC, sons: Zack Jr. (Jacqueline) of Reidsville, NC and William (Delsia) of Gibsonville, NC. Eleven grandchildren, six great grandchildren, siblings Ella Mae Starke of Warner Robins, GA, Naomi Goolsby of Walnut Cove, NC, Minnie Goolsby of Wendell NC, a host of nieces, nephews and a multitude of friends.
The family will receive family and friends at 1015 Cedar Lane, Reidsville, NC, 27320.
Public viewing will be Friday from 12:00 noon-7:00 PM at the funeral home.
