With gratitude for a life well lived, we celebrate the homegoing of Betty LouisePickard, who peacefully transitioned on January 7, 2026, at Moses Cone Hospital.
While we mourn her physical absence, we rejoice in the legacy of love, strength, and faith she leaves behind.
Born to the late Mary Louise Hall and the late Charlie James Lawary, Betty was preceded in death by her beloved brother, Sharon Lawary. She was a proud graduate of Reidsville Senior High School, Class of 1976.
Betty first found God through Elm Grove Missionary Baptist Church, where her faith was nurtured and rooted. A woman of deep faith, she later became a devoted member of Red Hill Missionary Baptist Church, where she faithfully served as an Usher, member of the Kitchen Committee, Senior Choir member, and Deaconess.
Betty also served her community with compassion as a Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA).
She was united in holy matrimony to Larry Pickard for 48 years, building a life rooted in love, faith, and devotion.
She leaves to cherish her memory her loving husband, Larry Pickard; her children, Tavis Pickard (Rhonda) and Latisha Perkins (Silvester); her grandchildren, Tyesha Lyons (Tino), Jaya Crews, Silvester Perkins Jr., Sakari Perkins, Wynter Perkins, Tyre Morrison, and Tevin Morrison; and her great-grandchildren, Kingston and Nolan Lyons, and Rylei Johnson; her siblings, Peggy Thomas, Lois Weatherford, Loretta McKeever (Charles), and Pandora Lawary; her brothers-in-law, Edward Pickard Jr. (Charlotte) and Jimmy Pickard (Ida); her sisters-in-law, Patricia Pickard, Jackie Pickard, Mae Bolden (Eddie), and Annie Mae Morrow; her godson, Lamonte Brown (Angela); special friends Pattie Lee Henderson, Diane Williamson, and Melissa Dunlap; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, extended family, and friends.
Though she has been called from labor to reward, her spirit lives on through the family she built, the lessons she taught, and the love she freely gave. We find comfort in knowing that her life was meaningful, her journey complete, and her memory everlasting.
