REIDSVILLE - Ms. Bettie J. Watlington, age 67, passed away Monday, April 14, 2025 at Moses Cone Hospital.

Public viewing will begin on Thursday, April 17, 2025 from 12 until 7 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Funeral services will be held Friday, April 18, 2025 at 12:30 p.m. from the Jerusalem United Holy Church, 633 Prince Williams Street, Reidsville, NC. The family visitation will take place at 12 p.m. Reverend Shirley Carter will preside and Bishop Elijah Williams, eulogist.

The committal and interment will follow in Greenveiw Cemetery, Reidsville, NC.

All other times, the family will receive friends at the residence, 339 S. Branch Street, Reidsville, NC.

Bettie was in Rockingham County, NC on January 1, 1958 to Charles King and Cora Watlington King.

She was educated in the public schools system and graduated from Reidsville Senior High School class of 1976.

For many years, she worked at Unifi, Inc in Reidsville, NC.

Bettie was a faithful member of Jerusalem United Holy Church where she served in the Fellowship Choir and attended Wednesday Bible Study.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Charles and Cora King; brother, Alfred Watlington; aunt, Frances Watlington.

Survivors include sisters, Carolyn Watlington, Ophelia Brown (Nathan), Clara Thompson and Janice Smith; brothers, William Turner (Sharon), Curtis Watlington (Patricia) and James Watlington; aunts, Edna Graves, Helen Johnson, Ollie Henderson and Fannie Watlington; godchildren, Brittish Watlington and Tyrell Watlington; special friends, Cynthia Williamson, Raquel Neal, Shawn Fountain and Rev. Wanda Moyer; a host of relatives and friends.
