Mrs. Bernice Wilson Neal passed  into eternal rest on Thursday, January 21, 2021 at the Hospice Home of Rockingham County in Wentworth, NC.  Graveside services will be held on Saturday, January 30, 2021 at 12:00 P.M. at Reidlawn Cemetery on Barnes Street, Reidsville, NC.  Public viewing will be held on Friday, January 29, 2021 from 2:00 until 7:00 p.m. at the McLaurin Memorial Chapel.

Born in Danville, VA, she was the youngest child of the late George, Sr., and Margaret Hairston Wilson and the last of her generation.  She was educated in the public school system of Danville, VA and Reidsville, NC, graduating from Booker T. Washington High School in 1945.  She was a faithful member of Grooms Missionary Baptist Church until her health declined.  She was a retired cosmetologist, owning and operating beauty salons in Brooklyn, NY, Providence, RI and Reidsville, NC.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, William L. ("WL") Neal, stepmother, Mae Wilson; siblings, George Wilson, Jr., Elizabeth Ervin, and Blanch McCollum.

Left to cherish her memory are:  sons, Charles Richardson, of Charlotte, NC and William L. Neal, Jr., of Greensboro, NC; daughters, Sharon Neal, of Reidsville, NC and Deborah Neal of Greensboro, NC; grandchildren, Patrice Smith (Kevin) and Charles Richardson, IV, both of Clinton, MD, Takeyia Blackwell, of Greensboro, NC, Tim Neal, of Greensboro, NC; great-grandchildren, Zion Jones of Clinton, MD, Kevin Smith, III, of Washington, DC, Treymon, Shaquiza, and Jamie Blackwell, all of Greensboro, NC; closest niece, Jacqueline Bailey, of Pittsburgh, PA; special friends, Polly Flippen and Bernice Jackson, both of Reidsville, NC and Rachel Murphy and Junita Davis, both of Greensboro, NC; and a host of other grands, nieces, nephews along the East Coast and many cousins and friends throughout the Reidsville/Danville area.
