Obituary

Mrs. Barbara Jean Fields Wheeler was born on February 10, 1948 to the late Susie and James Fields and ended this journey on Wednesday, December 18, 2013, at Moses Cone Hospital in Greensboro, North Carolina.

Funeral services will be 1:00 P.M. Saturday, December 21, 2013 at West End Baptist Church with Pastor Reginald Cook bringing the eulogy and burial following in the Greenview Cemetery. There will be a visitation 12:30-1:00 P.M. prior to the service.

Barbara attended the public school system and later in life, she graduated from Cornerstone Christian School System. She attended Rockingham Community College for her CNA License.

She accepted Christ at an early age and became a member of Mount Herman Baptist Church in Ruffin, NC. She moved her membership to West End Baptist Church in Reidsville, NC under the leadership of Rev. Thomas Johnson.

Barbara was a very giving and loving spirit, a lady of faith and a believer of God. She was a strong soldier and believed in putting God first in all of her endeavors. Barbara enjoyed working in the church and for over 17 years she served and was president of the usher board. Often times, many churches would ask her to usher for their occasion because of her loving and sweet spirit.

She leaves to cherish with precious and joyous memories: husband; James Wheeler Sr., of the home, three sons; Henry Fields of Reidsville, NC, Tony Fields of High Point, NC, James Wheeler Jr. of Greensboro, NC, ten grandchildren and seven great grandchildren and a host of godchildren, nieces and nephews other relatives and friends.
