On Friday January 2, 2026, the bright light of Anthony Randolph Jones went out on earth and from our lives.
Born on December 29, 1961, to Hallie McCain and Nash Jones (deceased) in Reidsville, NC, Tony was a graduate of Reidsville Senior High School with the class of 1980. Besides being a student bus driver, he excelled in Track and Field, JV Football, and Basketball. After High School Tony joined the U.S. Army where upon three years of service he was honorable discharged. Later his public sector employment included years of service Equity Group, Commonwealth Brands, and retirement from Pella Corporation in January 2024.
Preceded in death by his father Nash Jones and his sister Carolyn Slade, Tony leaves to cherish his memory his loving wife of three- and one-half years Elder Ardell D. Jones; step-daughter, Erica McLeod (Dante); mother, Hallie McCain; brother Otis Lynn Jr.; aunts, Elaine Cole and Odell Stephenson; uncle, Joseph W. Galloway; sister-in-law Shirley Watkins (Larry); brothers-in-law, Bishop Allen C, Harrison (Shenna); Maurice D. Harrison Sr. (Jackie); and Willie Slade; nieces Shanetra Whitney Slade; Aaliyah Sermon Carter; Min. Lisa Holley; Evette Gunter; Elder Shekina Mitchell (Tony), Iris L. Copeland; nephews, Zane Lynn; Maurice D Harrison Jr.; several great nieces and nephews, and a great host of cousins and wonderful friends.
To know Tony was to love him for he was a big-hearted person willing to help anyone in any way he could. He was a jokester, he loved to laugh, but he was also a no non-sense protector who stood in his God-given authority. He was no push over, he stood tall and strong in what he believed.
Upon accepting Christ as his Savior, Tony became a faithful member of Bluestone Baptist Church where he loved to serve. Beginning in the Usher's Ministry, then as a member of his beloved Male Chorus, later becoming a Trustee as well as part of the Audio-Visual Ministry, yet helped anywhere there was work to be done.
Lastly, Tony was an outdoorsman with a passion for hunting, fishing, playing softball , and motorcycling. He and Ardell enjoyed great times fishing and traveling together and with family and friends.
Yes our hearts are broken to live on without his physical presence, laughter and touch, yet we rejoice in knowing that Tony is now truly Healed, Whole, Delivered, Restored, Renewed and Better than before! God we thank You!
