REIDSVILLE - Mr. Anthony Levon Gore, Sr., age 64, passed away Sunday, August 31, 2025 at his residence.
Public viewing will begin on Saturday, September 6, 2025 from 12 until 7 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, September 7, 2025 at 1:30 p.m. from the Elm Grove Baptist Church, 1302 US-29 Business, Reidsville, NC. The family visitation will take place at 1 p.m. Minister Gladys G. Withers, eulogist.
The Interment with military honors performed by the United States Army Honor Guard will follow in the Elm Grove Church Cemetery, Reidsville.
All other times, the family will receive friends at the home of his niece, Shureka Thomas, 401 Salem Church Road, Reidsville, NC.
Anthony "Amp" Levon Gore Sr., was born in Loris, SC on January 27, 1961. He was the son of the late Mary Alice and Gary Gore, Sr. He transitioned from this life into his eternal rest on August 31, 2025, at his residence. Leaving a legacy of love, loyalty and friendship.
Anthony attended Reidsville Senior High School. He received his GED. He worked at APAC and Blue Ox and was a dedicated employee as a road maintenance worker, where he was known for his loyalty to crew and friends.
At a young age, Anthony accepted Jesus Christ as his personal savior and was a member of the Elm Grove Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. Cardes Brown, Rev. James Glover, Rev. Dr. Clarence Johnson and Pastor C. Bradley Hunt, II. He was a member of the Junior Choir.
He enjoyed cooking out and spending time with family and friends. "Amp" maintained a strong connection to his community. He served his country in the U.S. Army, honoring his country through his service. He was preceded in death by his parents, the late Mary Alice and Gary Gore, Sr.; brothers, Gary R. Gore, Jr. and Terry M. Gore (Patrice); grandparents, Vonnie Rimmer and Rev. Wilson Geralds, Rosa Lee and John Wesley Rouse; nephew, Seneca Wesley Gore; uncle, Robert Rouse; aunt, Johnnie Mae German; brother-in-
law, Michael Davis.
He leaves to cherish his loving memory; Kay Brown (formerly married to); proud father of sons, Anthony Levon Gore, Jr., William Allen and Jawuan; granddaughter, Celeste Gore; sisters, Min. Gladys Withers, Cheryl Davis (Michael) (d), Debra Gore-Wilson (Charles) (d), Annie Allen; brother, Stanley Patrick Gore; uncles, Emory Rouse (Diane), Wilson Geralds, Jr., aunts; Betty Rouse and Emma Geralds-McSwain, Diane Moyer; sister-in-law, Karen Gore; goddaughter, Allison and Carl Thomas (d) and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
