A proud graduate of Reidsville Senior High School, Class of 1971, Annie Lee dedicated her life to serving others through her work in healthcare. She spent her career with compassion and excellence, ultimately retiring from the UNC Health System in 2022. Caring for others was not just her profession—it was her purpose.
Annie Lee was beloved for her warmth, generosity, and especially her extraordinary cooking. Her macaroni and cheese, potato salad, hot dog chili, and signature pound cakes were cherished staples at every gathering. She sharpened her culinary skills by watching the Cooking Channel and always looked forward to trying new recipes. When not in the kitchen, she enjoyed watching the Hallmark Channel, finding joy and comfort in its heartwarming stories.
Annie Lee was a devoted member of Garrett's Grove United Methodist Church, where she served faithfully in many roles, including choir member, communion steward, membership secretary, and church treasurer. She was also a member of the Millennium Choir and the Voices of Praise Choir. Her commitment to her faith and church community was steadfast and deeply felt.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Robert and Lena Evans, and her brother, Douglas Evans.
Annie Lee leaves behind a legacy of love and kindness. She is survived by her devoted sisters, Lenora Pinnix (Thomas) and Linda Harrison; her caring brothers, Willie Evans (Catherine) and Robert Lee Evans (Sherry); sister-in-law, Brintley Evans; and a host of nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, and great-great-nieces and nephews, all of whom were touched by her love and care.
The family would like to extend heartfelt thanks to the Candy Creek community for your overwhelming support, kindness, and love during this time.
