REIDSVILLE, NC - Ms. Anne S. Pinnix, age 90, gracefully departed this life on Saturday, August 15, 2026, at the Cypress Valley Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation.

A viewing will begin on Sunday, August 30, 2026 from 1 until 4 p.m. at McLaurin-Harris Funeral Home, 721 East Morehead Street, Reidsville, NC.

Funeral services will be held Monday, August 31, 2026 from the St. Paul United Methodist Church, 1004 W. Harrison Street, Reidsville, NC. Visitation with the family will begin at 12:30 p.m., followed by the service at 1 p.m.

The committal and interment will follow in Greenview Cemetery, Reidsville, NC.

Anne Spencer Pinnix was born June 6, 1936, in Reidsville, North Carolina to Spencer Robert Pinnix and his wife, Lelia Beatrice Graves Pinnix. Our beloved family member and friend, passed away on Saturday, August 15, 2026 at Cypress Valley Center for Nursing and Rehabilitation in Reidsville, North Carolina.

Anne started her education by attending the Branch Street Elementary School and then Booker T. Washington High School in Reidsville. She was a graduate of Booker T. Washington High School, Class of 1953. While in High School she sang in the school choir and was the secretary of her senior class. Following high school she attended Winston-Salem Teachers College in Winston-Salem, North Carolina. Her Major was Early Childhood Education with a minor in Business. She returned to Reidsville to become the office manager for Dr. Irvin Bass.

She later moved to Washington, DC where she secured a job at State Teachers College, Bowie, Maryland, later known as Bowie State University. After Bowie, Anne obtained a position as a Medical Office Manager at the School of Dentistry at Howard University, where she worked for many years until she retired. While in Washington, Anne became a member of Miles Memorial CME Church where she sang in the Senior Choir.

In 1980, Anne returned to Reidsville where she began a second career as an employee at Bank of America where she worked until her second retirement.

Upon returning to Reidsville, Anne reestablished her membership with St. Paul United Methodist Church where she faithfully served as Financial Secretary, Church Secretary, and sang in the church choirs.

Anne enjoyed the company of friends and family. She loved bowling and won many bowling trophies and awards. She was a member of the Downtown Senior Group, The Phase Ten Gang and the Historical District Neighborhood Watch Association.

Anne also enjoyed watching her sports. She never missed the opportunity to cheer for her Washington Red Skins, now Washington Commanders, and the Atlanta Braves.

Anne is survived by her sister, Mamietta L. Pinnix of Decatur, GA, the Bass, Horton and Talley families, and a host of loving friends and neighbors.
