Mr. Alvin Dickerson passed away Wednesday evening January 19, 2022 at Moses Cone Hospital, Greensboro, North Carolina.

Alvin Douglas Dickerson was born in Pittsylvania County, Virginia on August 8, 1952 to the late Floyd Dickerson, Sr. and the late Gladys Jones Dickerson. He was a member of Guildfield Missionary Baptist Church in Dry Fork, Virginia, and was employed by Fieldcrest Cannon for 20 years.

Alvin was a humble and easy-going man.  He enjoyed the simple things in life, such as fishing and hunting.  He also enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.

He was married to the late Justeen Keen Dickerson.  Also preceding him in death were:  his three brothers, Clyde, Jerry and Michael Dickerson; and his two sisters, Mary Ollie Dickerson Pool and Elizabeth Witcher.

He leaves to cherish his memories:  two sons, Altonio Dickerson of the home and Randy Dickerson (Katrina) of Reidsville, NC; eight grandchildren; two great grandchildren; siblings, Floyd Dickerson, Jr. (Thelma) of Dry Fork, VA, Ray Dickerson (Glenda) of Martinsville, VA, Kathryn Dillard (Jimmy) of Axton, VA, and Thelma Hairston (David) of Ridgeway, VA; and a host of other relatives and friends.

Ashton and Yolanda McLaurin and the staff of the McLaurin Funeral Home are serving the family.
